DREAMS-1 scheduled for launch! See the DREAMS page by clicking the image below.

The camp will take place over 4 days this summer from June 25 through June 27 with an additional day for the balloon launch depending on weather and schedule. This elite team of students will learn some science and engineering skills and the week will culminate with your work on an original experiment being prepared to fly to the edge of space! The experiments built by the students will fly aboard a scientific high altitude balloon that can go over 100,000 feet high. These large Helium balloons float on top of the atmosphere just like a boat floats on top of the ocean.

Teachers from every school were asked to nominate 6th and 7th grade students with the following characteristics:
• Leadership skills – can speak to groups and knows how to be likable to their peers
• Strong in science and/or math – we want students who want to be there!
• Positive attitude and works well in teams

The only requirements are that you be able to attend all 4 days and that you be able to get transportation to Columbus High School each day starting by 9am and ending by 3pm. Lunch will be provided for all students, and all costs are covered by the Columbus NASA Connections program. Students can be dropped off on the front steps of Columbus High School and report to the Physics lab, Room 208.
